Celtics Seats for Soldiers 2021
One of our favorite annual events is the Boston Celtics’ Seats for Soldiers night at the TD Garden arena. Like many sporting events, this year’s celebration may have looked a little different, but we are so grateful to our friends at the Celtics who despite a challenging year and seating limitations were still able to find lots of ways to honor and celebrate our active duty military.
We were able to send 34 service members to the game, including four airmen who sat court-side in seats donated by Celtics owners! The Celtics also found lots of virtual ways to make the night special, including a virtual High Five tunnel for our military kids, a social media campaign honoring a series of service members, shout outs filmed from installations all over the region played on the jumbotron during the game, and even an overseas call to sailors in Guam via a courtside Zoom!
We can’t thank the Celtics enough for their partnership and efforts to celebrate our service members through a challenging year. We hope everyone who took part in the game, whether in person or from home, had a wonderful time! We are already counting down the days until next year’s game when we can hopefully bring these awesome memories to many more service members and their families.
