Even More Sweet Treats from the USO and Girls Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts
This spring we were delighted to receive a generous donation of 3,000 boxes of Girl Scout cookies to distribute to service members and their families throughout the region thanks to the generosity of the Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts. But the sweet treats didn’t stop there — this May, the Girl Scouts donated ANOTHER 3,000 boxes to share!
Volunteers and staff traveled far and wide across the New England to deliver cookies to 30 different units, including: US Army Research Institute of Environmental Medicine, Coast Guard Stations Gloucester and Castle Hill, NOSC Manchester, the crews of PCU USS DANIEL INOUYE and USS CARL M. LEVIN (both currently being built at Bath Iron Works), and a series of vaccination sites around Boston supported by the Massachusetts National Guard. We even received an amphibious pickup from our friends at Coast Guard Station Point Allerton, and were able to welcome the crew of the USCGC CAMPBELL to Boston with some cookies!
Thank you to the Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts and to our far-traveling staff and volunteers for helping us spread some smiles throughout the region!
