Celebrating National Volunteer Week
Every week we celebrate our wonderful, tireless USO New England volunteers, but especially so on National Volunteer Week!
Today is a particularly special day many years in the making, as it’s a chance to celebrate one of our truly amazing USO New England volunteers, Joanne Giannino, who this year is celebrating 50 years of volunteering with the USO!
Joanne is not only an invaluable USO teammate, but also a friend to so many that call USO New England home. A true representation of patriotism and dedication, her unwavering support of our military and their families and her dedicated service towards our mission has been an example to us all.
One of Joanne’s fondest USO memories is when she was able to sail aboard the USS Kennedy from New York to Boston, supporting the crew along the way! The commander of the USS Kennedy at the time sent along a photo and a note to thank the USO for their support, which we presented to Joanne today as a thank you for HER support.
Thank you, Joanne, for an incredible 50 years of service! And thank you to all of our wonderful volunteers, without whom we could no do what we do to support our local military and their families.
